About the author:

Meg Fleming is an award-winning children’s book author, a big-time laugher and a fan of all dogs. She has written many picture books for children including I Was Born A Baby, Rock That Vote, I Live In A Tree Trunk, Wondering Around and forthcoming, The Everything Trail. Formerly a music teacher, Meg draws on her love of rhythm, rhyme, and lyricism to create and imagine stories.

Collectively, Meg’s picture books have been honored by Kids Indie Next, ALA’s Top 5, TLA’s 2x2, California Golden Poppy, Canadian Children’s Book Center, Nile Book Award, Illinois Reads, Society of Midland Authors and the Society of Illustrators. Additionally, her books have received numerous stars from Kirkus, PW, Booklist and SLJ. But the highest of praise comes from the smallest of readers who connect with Meg’s stories and ask to hear them again… and again.

Meg is a sought-after speaker at schools and conferences where her magic lies in inspiring imagination and creativity. She is an active member of the Children’s Book Creators for Conservation and takes pride in sharing stories that shine a spotlight on animals and wild spaces. Meg writes from her heart (and her funny bone) in San Francisco, CA. Visit her at www.megfleming.net.
